Can mindfulness have downsides too?

We may not be able to savour full-flavour of mindfulness in context of our individualism as compared to being group or community oriented. Michael J. Poulin, says that mindfulness when practiced with focus on “I” rather than “WE” might not lead to positive outcomes.

For accomplishing the core purpose of mindfulness, let’s focus more on terms like “we”, “what we want,” “who we are” that are community centric instead of self-centric terms such as “what I want,” “who I am”.

Mindfulness practices that naturally include thinking about other people over ones own self, make us more kind, helpful and generous thus leading to positive social outcomes.
